The UC Bearcats play at home Saturday against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane with a 3:30 start time. The Cats are better than three touchdown favorites. Almost as exciting as the game is the fact that ESPN College Game Day program will be here. It's a first. Check it out from 9 am to noon on Saturday. Mamma says that Kirk Herbstreit is "so cute". It could get wild with the playoff committee just placing UC at number six in the country with teams with losses ahead of them. Some of the crowd could get rowdy.
Our Bengals play the Browns at PBS on Sunday at 1:00. Each team took a stinging loss last week. The bookmakers have settled on Cincinnati as a 2 to 2-1/2 point favorite. Anytime the home team has a line like that it means an even game. The 'over and under' betting line is about 44 points.
Last week the Bengals defense stunk up the Meadowlands in New Jersey. This week they had better be ready for a big dose of Nick Chubb - the Browns punishing runner. If our offensive line can't handle Myles Garrett, Cleveland edge rusher, it won't even matter how the defense plays. This game could turn into an old fashioned 'slobber-knocker'. Both teams have a reason to be desperate.
