ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL

Saturday is the big day for college football.  League championships will be determined and bowl bids will be developed and handed out.  Our UC Bearcats have a stiff test at home against the 11-1 Houston Cougars at 4 pm.  A win for the cats would give them a perfect 13-0 season and probably a spot in the four team playoff for the national championship.  A loss will be devastating at this point.  

On Sunday, the resurgent Cincinnati Bengals (7-4) host the LA Chargers (6-5) in PBS.  It's almost a must win for the home boys.  

Follow me now, I'm going straight to the numbers.  Each team plays 17 games this season.  The Bengals are 7 wins and 4 losses to date.  That leaves 6 to play.  To get into the playoffs, a team will probably need to win 10 games.  Ergo, the Bengals will need three more wins.  Here are the teams they have yet to play.

LA Chargers  6-5  12/5/21

SF 49ers  6-5  12/12/21

@ Denver Broncos  6-5  12/19/21

Baltimore Ravens  8-3  12/26 21

KC Chiefs 7-4   1/2/22

@ Cleveland Browns  6-6 bye this week  1/9/22

It doesn't matter which three we beat but, if one is the Ravens, it could mean a playoff home game.  Home games are always easier than away games.  I hope we get those wins right away - I'd hate to go into the New Year needing another win.
