ITS GREEK TO ME

Okay, there's another entry in the long line of corona virus variants.  It's called the omicron Ο variant.  Previously, we've had the delta Δ variant.  I assume we're not at the end of the line so here is a primer on the Greek alphabet.  I hope this will ease you into keeping track of which variant is the flavor of the day.

The Greek alphabet goes back to almost a thousand years before Jesus Christ was born.  In it's present form, it dates to the 4th century BC.  It begins with Alpha Α and ends with Omega Ω.  You may have heard that the one God is referred to as the Alpha and Omega.

Just a thought;  those of you who dabbled in the Greek life during your college days may be hip to all this.  Even those who joined some ancient society indicating how smart you are were.  Y'all will just have to bear with me.  

If you thought that the Greeks just have different names for the same letter we use, you are wrong.  We start off with A,B,C and D.  Theirs goes Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta or Α,Β,Γ and Δ.  

Enough with all the suspense; here is the balance of the alphabet.  Epsilon, Zeta, Eta, Theta, Iota, Kappa, Lambda, Mu, Nu, Xi, Omicron, Pi, Rho, Sigma, Tau, Upsilon, Phi, Chi, Psi, Omega. Ε,Ζ,Η,Θ,Ί,Κ,Λ,Μ,Ν,Ξ,Ο,Π,Ρ,Σ,Τ,Υ,Φ,Χ,Ψ,Ω.

As you can see, we have a lot of options available for future corona variants.  I'm not sure how they pick them but my vote for the next would be Omega.  Suitable if it were the last.
