MIDWEEK PRAYER

It seems we've reached the last "midweek prayer" of the year.  I hope you enjoy them.  Praying is important and you don't really need me to help you but, hopefully, what I have offered will give you new paths to walk down toward your own prayer.  I've tried to emphasize that prayer is just talking to God.  There's a lot of ways to do it and I think it's best in your own words.  It's not that hard.  Just mix up the asking with thanking.  Remember the time factor - God works in his own time, not ours.  Pray this one with me today.

Thank you, Lord, for the blessings you have bestowed on me this year and all my life.  You have provided me with more than I could ever have imagined.

You have surrounded me with people who always look out for me.  You have given me family and friends who bless me every day with kind words and actions.

I have been blessed with food and shelter; a healthy mind and body; a place to live, to be  educated and to work.   I have a home in which I have learned to love and be loved.

I accept the small sorrows because they help me appreciate the joyful times;  the times of need that help me appreciate the times of plenty;  the times of angst and fear that help me appreciate the times of peace and calm;  the times of sickness that help me appreciate all the rest.

Be ever with me - I will be with you.

Amen
