Something to watch today!
The National Football League has 16 teams of officials which they assign to games each week. The officiating teams are called crews and each is headed by the referee (the one who wears the white hat and makes announcements).
The crew headed by John Hussey has been assigned to the Bengals-Chiefs game today. After 16 weeks, these crews have worked enough games to provide statistics about themselves. Here is what the statistics tell you about the John Hussey crew.
#1 They call less defensive holding than any other crew.
#2 They call less defensive pass interference than any other crew but one.
#3 The home team wins more games officiated by this crew than any other.
Items #1 and #2 effect the passing game. A team that is aware and able to take advantage of this fact could shut down the other's passing game. On the other hand, offensive receivers may be able to hand fight their way to passes they wouldn't normally get. Ja'Marr Chase definitely knows how to hand fight during the pass.
Let's root for the home team!
