This weekend at Catholic mass you will hear a reading again from The Acts of the Apostles, plus one of various from the New Testament and a part of the Gospel of Luke. All this is part of a celebration of the Ascension of Jesus. Traditionally, Ascension Day is on a Thursday but for the last few years we have been devoting a Sunday service to that event.
The Ascension marks Jesus Christ's physical departure from our world and begins His reign with His father in Heaven. It is now that the Holy Spirit takes over in guiding those people who have been given the task of establishing God's presence on Earth, spreading the Good News which Jesus brought and forming His eternal Church.
Can you name the people who have been given the task of establishing the Church and Christ's teaching? One of them is YOU.
Have a great and blessed weekend. I love you.
