RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

QUOTES

This week I've chosen Winston Churchill.  Mr. Churchill was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom during World War II and again in the early 1950s.  He died in 1965 and is very quotable.  You might guess some were said very recently.

"There is no finer investment for any community than putting milk into babies."

"No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise.  Indeed, it has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time."

"To jaw-jaw is always better than to war-war."

"I have taken more out of alcohol than alcohol has taken out of me."

"A fanatic is one who can't change his mind and won't change the subject."

"I cannot forecast to you the action of Russia.  It is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma."

"I have nothing to offer except blood, toil, tears and sweat."

"In wartime, truth is so precious that it should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies."

"Victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival."
