RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

THE WORD THIS WEEKEND

I'd say the word this weekend is "forward-looking"; maybe that's two words?  It is such an important thing.  An old maxim is:  "If you don't make plans, you are planning to fail."  Granted, it's not an always- easy thing to do.  I felt that I was never that good at looking into the future.  The best entrepreneurs have the gift of forward-looking.  Those who lead a good life are always looking ahead.  This is a talent that children learn - it's not an innate gift.  Parents need to stress it with those in their care.

This is what the readings at Catholic mass are teaching us this weekend.  Maybe, that's what the readings are advising every week.  In any case, we cannot be so overwhelmed with our life on Earth to fail to prepare for the next.  Teach yourself to spend at least some small time each day or week to look forward - to prepare for what comes next.

Think about this whole concept when you have a quiet moment.  Don't be afraid to spend time with your own thoughts.

Have a blessed weekend.  I love you.
