QUOTES

This is a continuation of last week's Quotes entry of words by Vladimir Putin.  I hope you noticed that in 2008 Putin said, "Crimea is not disputed territory.  Russia has long recognized the borders of modern-day Ukraine."   Which goes to show, that quotations are not always the truth.  Here we go with the continuation.

2017  "It will take more than a bag of trucks in a subway to make me blink."

2018  "Crimea is our land.  Even if someone decides to argue with me, the dispute will immediately come to a dead-end. . . Democracy is the power of the people. . . It is exercised through referendums, elections and so-on.  People came to a referendum in Crimea and voted for independence, first and then for being a part of Russia."

2018  "Our nuclear weapons doctrine does not provide for a pre-emptive strike."

2019  "We have a law that everybody has been kicking us for . . . a law prohibiting homosexual propaganda among minors.  But listen, let a person grow up, become an adult and then decide who he or she is . . . leave children in peace.  There are so many inventions nowadays . . . they invented five or six genders . . . I do not even understand what it is."

2020  "The situation under full control."  (concerning the pandemic)

2021  ". . . the real magic of the New Year is that it opens our hearts to empathy and trust, generosity and mercy."

2022  "Ukraine actually never had stable traditions of real statehood."

2022  "We had no other way of proceeding."   (except to attack)

2022  "Our plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories.  We are not going to impose anything on anybody by force."

Very interesting!
