The pace continued more quickly; in 1975, 15 years later, the world population was four billion. As you can see, the pace kept increasing.
The world's population reached five billion in 1987. That billion took 12 years. Interestingly, in 12 more years, 1999, the population was six billion. In 2011, that's 12 years later again, we counted seven billion. Next year, 2023, to count will be eight billion.
To recap, it took hundreds of millions of years until there were a billion people on the planet. Then it took 124 years to add another billion. Then it took another 32 years to add another billion. Then it took another 15 years to add another billion. Then it too another 12 years to add another billion. Then, we are adding another billion every 12 years after that.
The rate of growth of the world population is stable. What do you make of that? You see, we are still growing. We're adding another billion people every twelve years. I see no reason for that to change short of nuclear war.
So, what happens? Well, a crowded planet will be a warring planet. Natural resources will become scarce. People will fight for space and energy.
The answer here is moving our people to other planets. It IS the answer and I think it will happen. Keep on looking at the stars. Populate the universe. Necessity will make it happen.
