RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

BORROWED WISDOM

"What's going on?" you say.  Sometimes it seems very little and at others, you can't figure out what to do first.  For you audiophiles with young ears, check this out.

The Township of West Chester has now announced that they will celebrate their 200th birthday with, among other things, a Food Truck Rally at Union Centre on June 2.  More about the "other things" another time.  In any case, those parties at Union Center are really fun.  Cheap food and drinks and free music.  This time they will feature Blessed Union of Souls; a multi-platinum group of alternative rockers.  This group leans to their Christian/Pop roots right here in Cincinnati.  They hit it big in the middle 90's with an album they called "Home".  Check 'em out on YouTube.

The City of Mason has announced that Gin Blossoms will make an appearance in that fair city for their Fourth of July festivities on the 3rd of the month.  I've had Gin Blossoms on my music list for many years with their early hit "Hey Jealousy" and also a later number called "Til I Hear It From You".  One of the best alternative groups out of the era near the turn of the century.

Not to be outdone, The City of Blue Ash will repeat their yearly extravaganza of great music with a July 4th celebration this year featuring Collective Soul.  This is another 90's group albeit more rockers than anything.  Blue Ash always puts on a big show - opening it will be Plush, an all-female rock band making headlines recently.

All this fun is free to anyone who can handle the crowds.  Go for it youngsters.
