REDS

I've been resisting saying much about our Cincinnati Reds baseball team.  I can no longer do that.  Last night's game was one of the great spectacles in local sport's history.  Single baseball games do not hold the weight that football games do; one is one of 162 and the other one of 17.   But still, how dramatic and exciting.

The crazy kids that play for the Reds are mostly indistinguishable to me from any other group of twenty-something guys.  It'll take a while to get to know them.  Of course, there's Jonathon India with hair flowing in the wind.  Tyler Stephenson flexing at the plate.  A reliable reliever named Diaz and thirty-nine year old Joey Votto who sticks out from the kids like the proverbial sore thumb.  It is amazing.

A sold-out stadium, talent to spare, speed to burn, power unleashed and joy abounding; it's all there for everyone to see.  Don't miss this opportunity - it doesn't happen every day, week, year, decade or more.

The fun could end soon but probably not.  The winning streak will end but not the fun.  Enjoy the process.  Root for the Reds.
