One third of all land in the United States is owned by the federal government. That's not a bad thing.
About 38% of North America is wilderness and only 28% of Africa is wilderness.
But:
Much of North America's wilderness is in Canada.
About 5% of the United States is protected wilderness.
But:
About half of that is in Alaska.
Almost a third of U.S. land is considered forest and about 25% is dense forest.
But:
Like wilderness, our forests shrink a little every year.
ENCOURAGE OUR GOVERNMENT TO MAINTAIN FOREST LAND AND WILDERNESS.
