RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

INCONGRUOUS

I listened to the "sounds of silence" last night  .  .  .   it was a brave little chicken that crossed the road  .  .  . but he froze in the heat of the moment  .  .  .  the medicine was icy hot  .  .  .  it hurt so good  .  .  ."she loved him to death"  .  .  .  the cook made good soup after he was cut into pieces.

I may have gone somewhere I didn't intend to go - you're guessing "crazy".

How many of these little quips, or ones like them, that use incongruous words are common in your language?  Be careful not to mix the thoughts of your listener unless, of course, you're trying to stimulate their brain.  Were you stimulated today?
