 Lord Stanley's Cup was awarded to the Florida Panthers the other night.  I'm not a big hockey fan but I always attempt to watch the National Hockey League (NHL) championship game.  Every time I see it, it is breathtaking.  The Panthers were up 2-1 on the Edmonton Oilers in the first period and it stayed that way through both of the next two periods.  Every minute that passed, the play become more intense.  The last five minutes were chaos and Florida hung on for the title.

I discovered in reading elsewhere that hockey players began using testicular protection (a cup) in 1874.  It is well-documented that the first helmets were used by players in NHL games in 1974.  

Yes, it took men 100 years to realize the brain was also important.
