RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

MIDWEEK PRAYER

The TV talking Heads, podcasters and internet creators have engorged us with "info" on the attempted assassination of President Trump.  On the chance that this little bit of info got passed you, I'll include it here.

Trump's rally in Butler, PA was begun with a benediction (prayer) by a local clergyman.  His people recruited a catholic priest from a nearby parish.  His name was Father Jason Charon.

Father Charon is pastor of a Ukrainian Catholic Church.  The Ukrainian Church is part of the Greek Orthodox and is in full communion with the Roman Church.

Father Charon prayed for Donald Trump and his safety and asked everyone to do the same.  After he left the stage and before Trump took the dais, he told well-wishers they too should pray for Trump because he thought people were trying to kill him.

Today we pray.

In the name of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, we pray for peace in Ukraine and the laying down of arms.   Infuse leaders of both countries with the wisdom to find agreement and come to a stable conclusion.  May the Holy Spirit comfort those who have lost loved ones, homes  and the necessities of life.

Amen
