REJECTION

Yes, rejection is something we all hate but it is also something we must learn to accept.  Well-adjusted people learn how to accept rejection.  It happens to everyone - some, many more times than others, some take it harder than others.

I don't take rejection very well.  Sorry.  I guess I'm not totally well-adjusted.

In light of all this, I came across this tidbit that I think is a real gem.  The background is a financial wiz  wrote a piece and submitted it to a Chinese financial journal for publication with the expectation of a monetary reward and praise from her contemporaries.  The following is the translated letter she received from the journal.

"We have read your manuscript with boundless delight.  If we were to publish your paper, it would be impossible for us to publish any work of lower standard.  And as it is unthinkable that in the next thousand years we shall see its equal, we are, to our regret, compelled to return your divine composition and to beg you a thousand times to overlook our short sight and timidity."

SWEET THEFT by J.D.McClatchy

Do all Chinese have such a gentle or witty way of saying "NO! YOUR SUBMISSION IS REJECTED."
