RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

NEWS OF THE WEEK

Things are still simmering in the Middle East.  Israel came upon a missing hostage or two in Gaza.  They also preempted a rocket attack by Hezbollah.   Israeli fighter jets kaboomed all known rocket launching sites in Lebanon.  Of course, this totally ticked off the boys in Iran.  What's next?

Travis and Jason Kelce sold the rights to their successful "New Heights" podcast to Amazon for a cool $100 million.  Travis won't have to ask Taylor to pay the Uber driver any more.

Elon Musk can't stay out of the news.  NASA has contracted SpaceX to rescue the unwilling astronauts from the International Space Station (ISS).  Boeing is still trying to keep the doors closed on their airplanes.  New adventures by Musk include an advanced military jet airplane with capabilities beyond what our Air Force has to offer.  In between, his team has developed a hydrogen fueled engine for automobiles that could make even the electric vehicles (EVs) obsolete.  Hold back on buying the EV too soon.  That's not all; his Neuralink group has implanted a chip in a second person.  This quadraplegic patient is now able to play video games and use 3D design software just by thinking.

The Ukrainian armed forces are still causing a stir in Russia.  Putin might be sorry he started this military action.

On Wednesday, 4,400 athletes from 184 nations commenced the Paralympics in Paris.  God bless these people.

A sixth business reached the valuation this week of $1 trillion.  That's a lot!  The five already there are Apple, Alphabet (Google), Amazon, Meta (Facebook), Microsoft, and Nvidia (AI technology).  Now we have Berkshire Hathaway (Warren Buffet's investment conglomerate).  Money-Money-Money!

I almost forgot to mention that the Reds are turning from bad into an embarrassment and the Bengals are still 'negotiating' with Ja'Marr Chase over his contract.  Stay tuned!
