RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

NEWS OF THE WEEK

I am pleased that Taylor Swift enjoyed the outcome of Thursday night's football game.  It's best for the Bengals that the Ravens lost.

Somehow the Reds have the number of the Houston Astros.  The Astros are a good team.  They are in the other league, so we play them infrequently.  The home team ran their current record against the Astros to 9 wins and no losses.  Amazing!

More dead hostages were found in Gaza this week.  Hezbollah hurled a few missiles from Lebanon into northern Israel this week.  The fires of war are still smoldering.

A 14 year-old named Colt Gray, murdered two students and two teachers in a Georgia high school on Wednesday.  On Friday it was decided to try him as an adult and to charge his father with murder as well.

Hunter Biden pleaded guilty this week to all charges against him in a Federal Tax case.  This prevented a lengthy trial during the election period.  He will be sentenced in December.

The Eagles and Packers played last night in Sao Paolo, Brazil.   Not much fun for the players - they were advised to stay in their hotel the whole visit except for the game - the city is one of the worst for crime.

STORY OF THE WEEK:  Scottie Scheffler won the PGA Tour Championship last Sunday.  This season he won $29,228,357.00 with seven wins and two second place finishes.  With the Tour championship and the Fed-Ex Cup Championship, he won an additional $25,000,000.00  bonus.  In between, he won the Gold Medal at the Olympics and God gave him a son.  Quite a year; but that's not the story.  Golfer Sahith Theegala finished third and received a $7.5 million bonus.  During the final round of the tournament, this man called a ruling on himself for touching his club in a sand trap bunker before he swung.  He didn't have to do it and he was penalized two strokes.  Without those two strokes, he could have earned an additional $2.5 million bonus.  That's what honesty cost him and why golf is a game like no other.
