RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

NEWS OF THE WEEK

 You've heard of a 'slow news week' . . . this wasn't it.

This week the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) was smirking at, but not admitting they had anything to do with, pagers and walkie-talkies blowing up in the hands and in the pockets of Hezbollah members in Lebanon.  What a message that had to send.  The Iranis seem stunned.  The IDF followed it up with rocket attacks on known Hezbollah artillery installations and individual military leaders.  Are the Israelis preparing for a ground war?  Later in the week, the Houthis in Yemen were hurtling missiles toward Jerusalem.  And don't forget, the IDF is still searching for Hamas soldiers and hostages in Gaza.  What a mess!

Monday night, while the Bengals were laying an egg, Katie Fuhrman was preparing to give birth to my great grandson, Malcom (Mac) James.  Unlike the Bengals, she did a marvelous job.  It was the highlight of the week.  He is the cutest!

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice led in U.S. gross movie box office for the third week in a row.   Juicy!

David Bell got his walking papers from the Reds after last Sunday's home finale.  Tomorrow is the final game of the year.  Just wait 'til next year. I hope the new manager they hire can hit.

Keehner Park is home to West Chester's Great Pumpkin Fest next Saturday.  Why have I never heard of it?

Hurricane Helene made it's way through the Gulf, up the West coast of Florida, across the panhandle and into the Southeast - drenching everything in it's path.  The huge cat 3/4 marched all the way to Cincinnati with 60 mph winds and heavy rain.  That ended our drought for a day or two.  More rain-free weather is on it's way.

The stock market continued it's welcome climb to new heights.  Don't pop the bubbles!

Tik Tok is sueing the U.S. to stop their forced separation from their China-based parent company scheduled for January 19.  They have 170 million U.S. users - more than half the population.

Hip Hop music mogul, Sean "Diddy" Combs, has gotten himself into a serious mess.  He was arrested and a New York grand jury has indicted him on sex related charges.  The indictment is sealed but the assumptions and guesses are gruesome.

That's enough - I'm tired.
