I was reminded recently that at one time I did a recap of family events at the end of the year on New Years Day. Well, that is something that I needed to make notes on during the year and, this year, I didn't do that. I'll try to recap the big events of the year on a national scale from my perspective. Top 15!
1. The long bridge in Baltimore went down when hit by a container ship.
2. There was a full solar eclipse in our part of the country.
3. Hamas makes an incursion into Israel killing, maiming, torturing and taking hostages.
4. D.J. Trump teamed up with J.D. Vance to win the presidential election.
5. Hurricane Helene ravaged the Southeastern U.S.
6. Syrian President Assad's regime is overthrown by rebels.
7. SpaceX has great success with rockets and returns stages for reuse.
8. Trump survived assassination attempts.
9. Boeing-built jets are grounded and Boeing-build space capsule proves unreliable
10. Paris Olympics go on without much of a hitch and Notre-Dame Cathedral is reopened.
11. The Reds hire Tito Francona as their new manager replacing David Bell.
12. KC Chiefs win 2nd Super Bowl in a row (first repeater in 20 years), Michigan is NCAA football National Champs, UConn repeats as NCAA basketball champs, Celtics win the NBA title and the Dodgers win the World Series
13. UFO's made a lot of headlines and then drones had people looking up.
14. Joe Burrow has a spectacular year and had his house burglarized.
15. Jimmy Carter, the oldest living U.S. President, died at 100 years old.
16. AI (Artificial Intelligence) and AI powered software proliferates
17. Stock Market hit all-time highs this fall.
18. Joe Biden loses it in a televised presidential debate
19. Astronauts stuck in space in the International Space Station
20. Peter Edward Rose also passed away without his dream coming true..
