A Pope made the headlines again. This time it was a new one. He'll be known as Leo XIV. (Do they still teach Roman numerals in school? The only place you use them is naming Popes and Super Bowls.) Pope Leo, though born in Chicago USA, spent most of his clerical life being a missionary to Peru.
The US domestic movie box office for last weekend had the new entry from Disney, Thunderbolts, as the leader. In it's second weekend, Sinners, came in second. Minecraft made the top five for the fifth week in a row. The Accountant 2 and Until Dawn kept drawing fans for the second weekend. The King of Kings and The Amatuer are still drawing a few. I don't see anything interesting hitting the big screen in wide release this weekend.
Checking the stock market results for the past week, I see some up and down but the major indices finishing on the positive. Local stars Procter & Gamble and Kroger had rather poor weeks.
