THE BALD EAGLE
Great news! The bald eagle has been taken off of the list of endangered species. This bird is not only our national symbol but a national treasure. So large! So powerful! So beautiful! Majestic in flight! Lethal in attack! The epitome of great vision! It is estimated that over 7,000 of them are now nesting in our country.
Ben Franklin was a great man, a wonderful leader, a patriot, a writer, a scientist and a clear thinker. Its hard to believe he wanted the wild turkey to be our national bird instead of the eagle. Maybe he was drinking Wild Turkey at the time.
