SPECIAL MOTHERS

Today is Gold Star Mothers Sunday...what a sobering thought. It should not be a secret.

During World War I, people put a blue star in their window or flew a flag with a blue star for each son that was away, fighting for his country. Some even wore blue stars attached to their clothes to indicate the same. These flags were replaced or covered with a gold star when a service person gave his life for his country. The mothers of those fallen sons became known as Gold Star Mothers and today we honor them...as well we should.
