U.S. AUTO INDUSTRY

The plight of the Big Three U.S. automakers and the fight in the U.S. Senate about whether to save them is turning into a 'right to life' for the UAW. The United Auto Workers union shunned republican candidates again in the last election and now is suffering for it. The Union seems to be the focus of what needs to be changed in order to restructure the ailing companies. No one wants to see the U.S. automakers go into bankruptcy - yet no one wants to give huge amounts of money to companies that waste it. To many Americans, the rules and benefits of the UAW are a huge waste. The sides are staring at each other and waiting for someone to blink. Our nation's economic health is in the balance.
