CINCINNATI SPORTS LAST WEEK

On Monday, before the dust had a chance to settle from the draft, the Bengals released running backs Chris Perry and newly acquired Gary Russell. Rumor has it that Levi Jones is next to go. They also went "all in" with McNicholas and UC grad Kevin Huber by releasing all other punters.

The Reds started the week with a 3-game home series against the Astros. They lost a close one on Monday that they could have won and got blown out on Tuesday. Wednesday, they bounced back with a big win of their own behind an Edinson Volquez gem.

The Bengals brought all the rookies in for a weekend mini-camp. Everyone is excited right now.

The Reds went to Pittsburgh for the weekend. On Friday, Bronson Arroyo threw 8 shutout innings and got his 4th win. On Saturday, they could have won but didn't and on Sunday, Johnny Cueto threw a masterpiece for another shut-out.
