Joey Votto missed the series with an inner ear infection and the Phils took two out of three. Edinson Volquez was put on the 15-day disabled list with back spasms - not good.
Interleague play began on Friday and the Reds hosted the Indians to lead it off. Bronson Arroyo threw a masterpiece at Cleveland and newcomer Adam Rosales got the key hit. Homer Bailey was brought up from the minors and got the start on Saturday. He was wild and got treated like a rookie. David Weathers gave up a run in the 8th for the loss. On Sunday, The Reds turned the tables on their neighbors to the north and won in 11 innings, 4-3. Alex Gonzales had the walk-off double. Homer Bailey was sent back to the minors.
