Its likely you have never heard of Brian Deese. The New York Times had an interesting article about him this week.
Deese is a 31 year-old who attended Middlebury College in Vermont and left with a political science degree. After college, he went to Washington to work on "aid issues" and other liberal causes. He became the senior policy analyst for economic policy for the Center for American Progress. He then went to Yale Law School for two years before taking a leave of absence to join the Hillary Clinton campaign and he somehow became her top economic policy staffer. When she was knocked out of the running, he switched to the Obama campaign and worked his way into an economic policy adviser position. He became Obama's expert on the auto industry and now is one of the chief driving forces in the handling of the Chrysler and General Motors debacles. Understand that he is neither an economist nor a lawyer and has never seen the inside of an automobile factory. This guy must be a genius.
