RYDER CUP

The Ryder Cup - it starts today.  For me, it beats the Super Bowl (Lombardi Trophy), the World Series (Commissioner's Trophy), the NBA Finals (Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy) and the NHL Finals (Stanley Cup).  This is more than deciding which team is the champion.  This decides which country/continent is the champion.  It is the U.S.A. against Europe.  Its only played every-other-year.  A 12-on-12 golfing duel in which professionals win no money.  Its played for pride - love of country - bragging rights.  Two rounds of pairs are played today and two tomorrow; then one-on-one Sunday for the Cup.  The 24 best golfers in the world going head-to-head. Match play - not medal.  One point for a win and a half for a tie.  It could be a blow out; it could be a nail biter; it could be a heart stopper.  In any case, it is my cup of tea.
