SOFTBALL

Last night I began my 40th consecutive year playing softball with the same team.  Think about that for a minute.

I say same team but it has actually changed names and sponsors and players and leagues and . . . well, I consider it the same team.  All of the players I began with are either retired or dead.

I started playing softball 51-years ago this year.   Except for my stint in the army,  I didn't miss any years.

This year's schedule started us off with a double-header.  I didn't need that but it all turned out well.  We won both games.  I caught the second one.  I had two singles, one in each game.  It's not that hard.

It was almost too cold to drink beer at the park.  I only had one beer after the game but we downed a few pitchers at our sponsor's place,  Campioni's Pizzeria.  It was just like old times.  Love it!
