RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

6/09/2014

JUNE 9

On this date in 1934, 80 years ago today, Donald Duck made his debut in the Walt Disney production of The Wise Little Hen.  For three years after that, he appeared as a minor character to Mickey Mouse and Goofy in several cartoons.

In 1937, Donald got his own series in which to star.  It was then he was paired with Daisy Duck and sometime later his three nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie.

Donald always wears a sailor's outfit consisting of a coat and hat; it never includes pants.   Unlike her significant other, Daisy always covers her bottom by wearing a skirt.  Daisy has three nieces; April, May and June.

The film voice was done by Clearance Nash from 1934 to 1985.  Since then, Tony Anselmo has had the honor.

Trivia hounds will be glad to know that Donald's middle name is . . .  Fauntleroy.
