SUNDAY SERVICE

Today is the fourth and last Sunday of Advent - the season of preparation.  The preparation is thought of as for the coming of Jesus the baby of Bethlehem but it should also be thought of as for the coming of Jesus the judge of the living and dead on Heaven and Earth.

In today's beautiful gospel verse according to Luke, we are taught by Mary how we should act.  When an angel told her an amazing story she responded with, "I am the handmaid of the Lord."  She acknowledged that she was a servant of God.  She would go along with whatever He had in store for her. . . as it should be with us.
