Forty years ago yesterday, April 30, 1975, the Vietnam War ended when the United States pulled out of Saigon - the capitol city of South Vietnam.  Communist forces of  North Vietnam captured the city and began the reunification process.  The city was renamed Ho Chi Minh City after the president of the North. 
The statistics:  U.S. casualties - 58,303 dead and 303,644 wounded.
