SUNDAY SERVICE

Today we hear in the Old Testament and Gospel about the relation between man and woman.  Mark's account of a confrontation between Jesus the Pharisees in which he states clearly that divorce is not an option.  In the reading from Genesis, we hear the famous story of Adam and the making of Eve.  God made the woman from the man and for the man that they should propagate the world.

I suppose there could be some leeway created by a different translation of the original text and thereby the meaning.   But these readings, as we have them now, do not leave room for liberal interpretation.   One man and one woman - forever.
