LOVE

I always heard that the opposite of being loved was not to be hated but to be ignored.  I plugged "the opposite of love is" into my computer and it came up with more answers:  The opposite of love is indifference.  The opposite of love is not hate but apathy.  The opposite of love is selfishness.

No, if it's not hate, none of these quite hit it for me.  People, who do not love you, will ignore you but that is not the opposite of love.  It could be they just don't know you.  To know is to love.

The real opposite of love is displayed by those who know you and choose to use you.  To be used is not to be loved - it is the opposite of love.  This fools some people.  Some mistake being used with being loved.  Never make that mistake.  Never allow yourself to be used.  Warn others if you think they are being used.

Love others.  Use no one.
