WEATHER-GUESSER EXTRAORDINAIRE

We're all still dealing with the Summer heat and humidity.  Here is a tip.  Keep track of the dew point.
Yes, the dew point is the temperature at which dew will fall out of the atmosphere.  Dew is what we call the little droplets of water which we find deposited on the grass and flowers on some Summer mornings.

Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air.  The humidity readings you get from the weather-guessers on TV is actually relative humidity.  It expresses current humidity as a percent of the highest possible humidity for a given temperature.

If you're lost, that's a good reason not to pay attention to relative humidity.  Here's my take on it.  Just remember this:  if the dew point is below 60 degrees, it will feel good outside - if the dew point is between 61 and 70 degrees, it will feel bad outside - if the dew point is above 71, it will feel real bad.

Bonus information:  fog will form when the difference between the air temperature and the dew point is less than 4 degrees.  Watch for that this Fall.
