A week or two ago I read an article in the WSJ about Victoria's Secret. The retail store system is still profitable but their growth rate is declining. The owners put the reason on changes in women's self-image and new trends in fashion. The trend is toward the athletic look and the resultant use of sports clothing. Women want to be slimmer than ever and more athletic looking. Out with underwire and padding ... in with elastic and LYCRA. Out with frilly underwear ... in with Under Armor. Out with Victoria's Secret ... in with Nike.
Well, all I have to say is "It's a sad day." Women want to look more like men. "It's a sad day." Soon, we'll all be standing up to pee. "It's a sad day." If we don't watch out, a woman might think she could become President. "It's a sad day
