RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

CRIME AND PUNISHMENT

Let's take a look at the punishment side of our legal system.  Here are typical punishments we often hear for some random crimes -  I'm sure you're familiar with them:  "$1,000 fine" - "thirty days in jail" - "revocation of driver's license" - "three years in prison" - "ten to fifteen years in prison" - "twenty years to life in prison" - "life in prison with no chance of parole" - "the death penalty" - and the current, most vicious penalty, against which many people are protesting "a free plane ride home."!

Deportation is made out to be cruel and unusual punishment.  It could be slightly disruptive but, give me a break, if I commit a crime in some foreign country, please let it be my punishment.
