INTERFAITH WISDOM

Alycia Longriver is a Native American of the Micmac tribe.  With others in 1995, she walked across our country from Cape Cod, Massachusetts to California.  The journey covered 3000 miles and took over seven months to complete.  On the way, her small group talked with other groups and prayed for the healing of people and of the Earth.  After the trek, she penned this poem/prayer.

Creator, open our hearts

to peace and healing between all people.

Creator, open our hearts

to provide and protect all the children of the Earth.

Creator, open our hearts

to respect for the Earth and all the gifts of the Earth.

Creator, open our hearts

 to end exclusion, violence and fear among all.

Thank you for the gifts of this day and every day.
