WEEKEND LITURGY

Zechariah 9   Psalms 145    Romans 8:9, 11-13    Matthew 11:25-30

In Matthew's gospel this week, Jesus makes us an offer.  It's simple.  He says, "Come to me . . . and I will give you rest.  . . . learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart;  and you will find rest for yourselves."  

If you seek a calmer life, if you are weary from work and worry, if you seek God but cannot find Him, go to Jesus.  It is only through Jesus that you can find God.  Lose the burdens of the world by taking on the burdens that Jesus puts on you.  You will find that his yoke is easy and his burdens are light.
