I'm really excited about October 23rd.  Are you wondering why?

Today is one of the seventeen federal holidays celebrated in Thailand.  It is Chulalongkorn Day.
This day they remember the day King Chulalongkorn died in 1910.

Today is the day in Brazil in which they celebrate their Air Force.  In English, it's Aviator's Day.

Today, in Libya, they call this Liberation Day.  It is the day shortly after Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, the reigning tyrant, was killed in 2011. It marks the end of their civil war.

Here it is.  This is Mole Day - at 6:02 am and 6:02 pm.  It is an international observance instituted by chemists, chemical engineers, and many others who can't forget that we define the number of atoms/molecules in one mole of a substance as 6.02 x 10/23. (that's 10 to the 23rd power).  That's a number that chem students can never forget.
