Mark 3:20-35
Who is your brother? Who is your sister? Who is your mother? In this weekend's gospel, Mark relates a story about Jesus that brings this into focus. It tells us something about 'religion' and 'church'.
Jesus points out that his family is they with whom He dines and with whom He lives but more importantly with those with whom He shares beliefs. Don't limit yourself to blood relatives. Be a part of something larger.
It is so consoling to find someone who will affirm and reinforce your beliefs. How good it is to find dozens or hundreds or thousands who will stand by you.
I feel that there are many paths to eternal life with God; why not take one with a lot of the right kind of company - with people aiming for the same destination.
