WEEKEND CATHOLIC LITURGY

Our gospel reading this week is a continuation of last week.  Jesus is still talking about how everyone should consider Him the food and drink we need to gain eternal life.

This week I'm reminded how Suzanne and I have a weekly meal with friends.  Every Thursday for about twenty-five years, we have 'broken bread' with several couples and now a widow or two.   I can attest that it gives you a special feeling for these people - a special closeness similar to that which a family develops by dining together.

Attending mass or any religious service and sharing some food there helps you to build similar relationships.  Don't ever say you have enough friends - there are never enough and never too many.  There is no better place to make a friend.
