THE WORD THIS WEEKEND

The weekend in the Catholic Church we celebrate Divine Mercy - the Sunday after Easter is known as Divine Mercy Sunday.  Each of the readings at mass reflect that theme.  This is a relatively new emphasis and an important one.  I'll not say anything about the readings - it is enough to know that our God is merciful.  There is nothing that cannot be forgiven.  The Church waits with open arms - even if it doesn't seem that from a distance.  It is a Church of love AND mercy.  Be not afraid.
