THE WORD THIS WEEKEND

At Catholic mass this weekend, we'll try to get the horse out in front of the cart.  Last week, we read Luke's Gospel chapter 17 and talked about the importance of thanking God for the blessings he has bestowed on us.  This week in chapter 18, we take Jesus' word for how important it is to be persistent in asking for what we need. Pray often!

Here are some things to think about.  Do you pray - talk to God, that is, or ask the saints to ask for you?   If you do not pray,  does that mean you do not believe in God?   If you believe, surely you would converse with 'Your Maker.'

If you pray, but do not ask God for anything personal, does that mean you think He can not give it to you?   Does that mean you think you don't need God's help to get what you need?

Prayer is our connection to God.  If you're out of practice, it's okay.  Get started today.  Converse with Him.  He wants to hear you say what you need, what you want, what you are thankful for and what you hope to do.  No body will know except you and He.
