One hundred and ten doesn't sound so long ago - my grandparents were living. But, no one had radio before this date. Wowza! I bet they felt that they were in the age of technology.

On this date in 1910, yes, 110 years ago today, the very first public radio broadcast was sent out into the airwaves. It was in New York City, under the direction of Lee de Forest, a live broadcast from the Metropolitan Opera House. Among the performers that day was the great Enrico Caruso.
