BENGAL-MANIA

Who said the Bengals would go 0-16?  We've got us a win.  There's no stopping us now!

Well, maybe.  This week they play the Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore Sunday at 1pm.  You couldn't ask for much worse. The Ravens are a pick by many to go to the Super Bowl.

The Bengals looked decent against Jacksonville last Sunday; of course, the Jaguars are about as bad as they come even though they had won a game already.  The Bengal offense again looked formidable and the defense was improved.  But still, nothing to knock you off your chair.

This Baltimore team flaunts a quarterback like no other in the league.  Lamar Jackson is as dangerous as it gets - yes, with his arm but mostly with his feet.  He runs like crazy and runs circles around a lot of players paid a lot of money to tackle opponents.  He is a handful.  But, figure out a way to stop him while still covering his receivers and you've got a chance.

Baltimore's defensive line hasn't really scared anyone yet this season, so Joe Burrow may have a second or two to find a receiver this week.  Let's hope.

Most of the sports books in Vegas are giving you 13 points with a bet on the Bengals.  They're predicting a fairly high scoring game at 51 total points scored.

Cincinnati hopes to get Gino Adkins back into the defensive line mix. He could be a big help this week.  The big mystery for the Bengal offense is what to make of A.J. Green.  The one-time all-pro has been anything but that in the first four games.   John Ross, our only real speedster wideout, has been religated to the bench the last two weeks. He's a mystery himself.   Everyone thought we had a great receiving corps before the season started - now, not so much.

Tight end Drew Sample missed two possible TDs last week.  He has inherited the position after we traded Tyler Eifert and C.J. Uzomah went down with season ending injury two weeks ago.  Not to cry but we have lost 2 defensive tackles, an offensive guard and a cornerback to injury so far this season.  A handful of players were dinged up last week, let's hope they all can play. Tough times!

Keep your head up!  Keep rooting!  Who Dey!
