These thoughts may be a little random but should at least provoke thought. Have you been thinking much lately? Don't let yourself get out of practice.
Are you one of those who always wants to be the smartest person in the room? Are you usually the smartest person in the room? Maybe, you're in the wrong room. Always seek knowledge. You can learn much more with your mouth closed and your ears open.
The teacher is probably the smartest person in the school classroom. But, teachers ask questions for which they know the answers. Usually, there is only one correct answer. It is that way through most of your schooling. How exhilarating would it be to be asked a question by a teacher who says, "Don't be afraid to think, there may be no right answer. We will choose the best answer."
Post education, your value as a worker will depend on your ability to find answers - solve problems. In the business world, people work on solving problems for which no one really knows the answer. Often, multiple answers might work. The best people learn to choose the best answers, most of the time.
While learning a new task, you might find that there are a lot of wrong ways to do it. Too bad, if you have to experience all of those failures before you get it right or find the best way. A well-taught student will know how to find an appropriate answer and do it quickly without experiencing many wrong turns.
I propose that we have a "problem solving" class for students beginning in middle school. What a great experience it would be. Let's stimulate these kids.
