 I trust you have all walked on a path through the woods.  The path can be up hill, sometimes downhill and often meandering.  You have to watch out for rocks or puddles in the path and branches growing out over the path.  Sometimes birds and animals will be encountered;  sometimes animals you fear.  All in all, it helps to be aware of  what is coming up ahead.  Always look ahead; know what's coming.  It's much easier that way.    

I also don't doubt that you have tried to veer off the path; make your way through some brush or sticker bushes or high weeds or poison ivy.  It's not easy.  But, if you want to find your golf ball, it is often necessary.
