RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

THE WORD THIS WEEKEND

This weekend at Catholic mass the Feast of Christ the King is celebrated.  Think about Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem just days before the Passover; just days before he was murdered, murdered for being the King of the Jews - but not the kind of king the Jews wanted.

Jesus actually came as more than the king of the Jews; he is king of the whole universe.  Treat him as you would a king.  Bow or bend your knee at his sight.  Always deal with him with reverence.  He has made himself available to us - if you are lucky enough to live close to a church, his father's house, he is there. He is available to us in the form of the Holy Eucharist.  His body and blood.  Available every day.

Take advantage of his presence...as often as you can.

This is the last Sunday of the church calendar year.  Next week we have the first Sunday of Advent.  Prepare yourself for his coming.   It is the right time of year.
